How to add notes by photo
Photograph a page of a book and Endpapers turns the printed text into a quote you can keep, search and share. The reading happens on your phone: the photo is not sent anywhere.

Take the photo
- Start a new note and choose the camera. The first time, the phone asks for camera access.
- Fit the page inside the frame, with good light and no glare, and take the picture.
- You can also pick a photo you already took from your library.
Review the text
- The app shows the photo and the text it found. Check that it is right and fix what is not.
- Printed text is the default mode. Handwriting is a separate option.
- You can add your own thought under the quote. It is optional.
Save it
Tap Save quote. The quote goes to the book you chose and shows up in your notes, where you can search for it later. If the text came out badly, tap Retake and try again with a steadier hand or better light.
If it does not read well
- Hold the phone parallel to the page so the lines are straight.
- Avoid shadows across the text and the page curve near the spine.
- Fill the frame with the part you want, instead of the whole open book.
